Woman of Substance

FOLLOWING A NEW PATTERN

Every artist needs a muse. For Beth Lacefield, who had long wanted to design a line of fabrics with her daughter and business partner, Frances, she found her inspiration in Randy Tilinski, the owner, with his wife, Courtney, of Atlanta’s Bungalow Classic. “I was in the store one day,” recalls Lacefield, “talking about how the Bungalow Classic brand logo would make for a great textile, and that conversation was what led to the launch of our new brand, B. Bridges. Every time we go to Bungalow, there is a sense of creative, calming energy there. Their magic of simple, but sophisticated, style is truly the peak of chic. Randy became my muse.”

Randy admittedly recognizes the role he played in the birth of B. Bridges. “In the best ways,” he recalls, “Beth used me as a sounding board, as a muse for her designs.” Both Randy and Courtney kept approaching Beth with the idea for her to make a line of sophisticated, versatile fabrics that they would feature in their Atlanta store. “I guess you could say I kept pestering her,” says Randy, “to make something more exclusive ‘To the Trade,’ patterns that went beyond the ordinary or expected.”

And because both of the Tilinskis are visionaries—affectionately referred to in the industry as “Mr. and Mrs. Bungalow,” for their highly curated collection of furniture, lighting, antiques, accessories, and artwork—they were especially excited by the results. “Beth brought Frances into her new business, and it was such a thrill to be a cheerleader for them,” says Courtney, “to watch them create something and realize it.” Adds Beth, “Still a pinch-me moment for me is when they both loved what we did.”
