Mark your calendar for the 17th Annual Antiques at the Gardens at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens

MILIEU is proud and excited to be a media sponsor of the Friends of Birmingham Botanical Garden’s 17th annual “Antiques at the Gardens” (September 28–October 1) event. Long regarded as the city’s, indeed one of the nation’s, premier antiques shows, this year’s event features some of the most prominent national and international dealers and authorities in the industry.
During the course of the three-day show, some 22 dealers in furniture, fine art, vintage and fine jewelry, rugs and textiles, home décor, and garden accessories will be in attendance, along with such notable authorities and brands in the world of design as Michael Diaz-Griffith, Executive Director of Design Leadership Network; architect Stan Dixon (who MILIEU has featured numerous times); de Gournay, the event’s design sponsor; and Cowtan & Tout, who is the show’s official textile sponsor.
Every day is filled with events that are both informative and entertaining. Friday’s Red Diamond Lecture Series, for instance, opens with a morning keynote appearance by Martin Brudnizki, the acclaimed London-based interior architect and designer, who will be in conversation with Mitchell Owens, the American editor of World of Interiors and one of the most prolific writers on design. The “Red Diamond” series continues on into the afternoon with a panel discussion addressing the topic, “The Art of Tradition.”
Proceeds from both the show and the Gala in the Gardens kick-off event (September 28) will benefit the mission of the nonprofit Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens, which seeks to protect, nurture, and share the wonders of the site’s glorious gardens.
