Alexandra Killion, interior designer and founding philanthropist of La Petite Maison with her team, is ” increasingly blown away by the effort and talent the designers bring to the table for this event. What started as a small idea to harness the design community in and around Houston, has quickly surpassed what I could have imagined.”

A holiday home tour like no other is happening in the Greater Houston Area. Designers of eight residences welcome you inside their homes to wander the rooms, for instance, of an idyllic Greek Island residence, to experience the charms of a true Southern home in small-town Georgia, relax by the ocean in the Hamptons, occupy the Modern interiors of a home in Cabo decorated for the holidays, or unpack for a stay in an adaptation inspired by Wes Anderson’s colorful movie ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’. But while none of these homes are larger than three a half feet wide or made of anything but plywood, each feels as grand and detailed as a full-scale residence.

Not unlike real home decorating projects, the dollhouse designers and their respective teams have been fabricating the interiors of these miniature houses for many months, choosing fabrics and patterns, wall colors and furnishings, artworks to hang and accessories to arrange just as they would for real-life home projects. The finished dollhouses have been on showcase in eight businesses throughout Houston since they were completed on November 19.
The tour continues at select Houston locations until December 3. On December 4, a fundraiser will be held at Hotel ZaZa Museum District, with all proceeds from the sales of the dollhouses, raffle tickets, and an art auction will benefit Family Houston.
