SOANE BRITAIN – PRESERVATION OF CRAFTS
Talk at The V&A Museum, South Kensington
It has long been Lulu Lytle’s mission to preserve, celebrate, and continue the age-old traditions of craftspeople in Britain. As the founder of Soane Britain, Lulu has not only preserved traditional craft-making skills, but also champions new ones. What was once threatened, now thrives. Through her stewardship, a new generation of craftspeople, artisans, and artists are at work throughout the UK.
Through the lens of rattan Lulu joins design writer Fiona McCarthy in conversation about why there is a crucial need to preserve these skills to ensure they will be saved for future generations.
